Doctor of Pharmacy - Pharm.D

The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is a professional degree in the field of pharmacy that provides advanced training in the practice of pharmacy, as well as an opportunity for students to specialize in areas of interest.

The Pharm.D. program is designed for students who want to pursue careers in pharmacology, pharmaceutical research and development, clinical pharmacy, and/or health care management. The Pharm.D. degree also makes it possible for students to go on to post-doctoral training or other graduate degrees such as M.P.H., M.A., or M.B.A.

Studying pharm.d, doctor of pharmacy is important because it is the highest degree awarded by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). It is also the only degree that focuses on medication and pharmacy practice, which means that students will be able to focus on the science behind medication and how it works.

The scope of pharmacy is broad, covering all areas related to drug manufacture, dispensing, and use. Pharmacists are required to understand both scientific knowledge about the drugs they make and their effects on the body as well as knowledge about business practices in order to make sure patients receive quality care. By studying pharm.d, doctor of pharmacy students will learn how to apply this knowledge as they become pharmacists in practice settings or work toward becoming pharmacists at a hospital or clinic setting.
